Did you Hear- Windows 10 Anniversary Updates Freezing ?
Microsoft has received a small number of reports of Windows 10 Anniversary Update freezing after installing on the systems with the operating system stored on a solid-state drive (SSD). Plus, applications and data stored on a separate drive.
A “small number.” I’ll bet.
…systems with the operating system stored on a solid-state drive (SSD). Plus, applications and data stored on a separate drive.”
Sounds like every development box on the planet. Sounds like mine. I think we should delay these particular updates for a while. However, Microsoft is suggesting a temporary solution for this problem. The solution is- to use windows in the ‘Safe Mode’.
As per our reports, Microsoft official kept on saying-
This issue does not occur when starting Windows 10 in Safe Mode. If you are experiencing this issue, we will be providing updates to this thread… We ask for your patience while we continue our investigation and please check back on this thread for an update.”
But, is it worth?
There is an up-side. Maybe in troubleshooting this way they’ll crush whatever bug completely disabled Cortana, Edge, and their version of an ‘application’ store on my system with the first major update late last year.
Not that I really miss them, but it’s annoying they’re broken. And, fingers crossed, maybe they’ll also finally fix these applications ‘Photos, Sport, Sport, and Travel‘ . These applications crash constantly.
But still, in any dark side of my heart, I think Windows 10 is probably going to be pretty cool when it gets out of Beta.
