Snapchat is Acquiring an Alien Company for $110m
Snapchat Acquiring Vurb?
Company Reportedly to Spend Over $110 Million to Acquire Search App Vurb. Vurb is a San Francisco-based company, with their main product being an application for Apple and Android devices. The application is a card-based contextual search engine.
According to their website —
It enables people to find, plan, and share by connecting them to the most relevant information and tools from apps and services in a single experience.”
Additionally, this card-based contextual search engine functionality removes the need to switch through multiple other applications. (on the device to perform a task)
Consequently Search, chat, and coordinate plans with Snapchat friends … all without leaving the app. This last part is largely missing from the Facebook search experience,.That’s why they haven’t been able to unseat Google.
It will be really interesting to see if Snapchat can pull everything together in a more convenient experience. But if they can then that will help to rewire consumer search behavior. As of now, SnapChat Acquiring Vurb… that’s all.
That’s all from this post.
