How Torrent Works continued..
Now as we all know how we download any files From Torrents:
- We first Install a torrent client Software maybe utorrent or bit-torrent or whatever you like.
- Then we download .torrent file first from any numerous sites available and then install torrent client Software.
That’s all it starts downloading..!!
Alright we all know that but we are here to discuss what happens at the Back-end Right.
Swarms , Seeders or Seed, Leeches :
The Group of Interconnected Computers which Share Files in P2P Way is termed as Swarm in Bit-torrent terminology.
Seeders or Seeds:
The computer or nodes or peers in the swarm having complete downloaded files set are termed as seeders and the process of uploading files while downloading is termed as Seeding.
Basically the Nodes or peers which disconnect themselves after downloading complete file restricting from further upload are termed as leeches they don’t seed after their file is download complete.
So whenever you browse for .torrent File we came across some terms like seeders or seeds and leeches with some numbers attached to it well they basically told us about the swarms attached to that that file now, you would be getting an idea of what they mean Right.
So What happens When We Download .torrent File.
It’s Interesting to Note that .torrent files don’t basically download files from servers they basically contain a tracker which identifies the swarms (group) attached for that particular file and connect us with the group so we start downloading the files. But, Swarm must have at least a single node which contains full downloaded file or seeder otherwise we will end up with incomplete file.
As soon as we are attached to a swarm by the help of .torrent file we start downloading files in fragments as well as uploading files so that other can connect with us too for their downloads so that if we have 1000 of computers in the swarm then they all will download and upload fragments within themselves so as to increase the download speed.
So Can you answer This question Now how Torrent works ..?
I am Sure you can Now.
Did you know..?
Torrents speed depends on reputation of torrent clients or we can also say it follows tit for tat principle.
The More you Give is the Faster you take, Means The More you Seed or upload files then the more priority you will be getting in terms of speed as compared to others. So, this solves the problem of Leeching as they are left with lower priority. But this also didn’t mean that you keep on Seeding files all the time for getting Priority Nope it Wouldn’t Work that Way.
